Bishop Arthur Brown was born and raised in the City of New Orleans, Louisiana to the proud parents of Arthur and Eloise Brown. He is from a family of seven brothers and two sisters. Pastor Arthur Brown married the former Betty Newsome also from New Orleans to whom he has been married for thirty-five years. From this union, three daughters were born, Angela, Anita, and Andrea. He also has four grandchildren, Dante, Brittney, Amber, Joe, and one great-grandchild.
He graduated from George Washington Carver Senior High School in New Orleans. Pastor Brown continued his education by receiving a degree in Human Relations and Communications Management from Vincennes College of Indiana. He is a retired Army First Sergeant completing twenty-two and half years with the United States Army.
Bishop Brown began his preaching ministry in 1978 while on duty in Frankfurt, West Germany. He was ordained as a pastor in 1980 by Bishop J. V. Porter of the United Gospel Fellowship of Fayetteville, North Carolina. While Pastor Brown was in Europe, he helped spearhead and establish churches in Brussels, Holland, and West Germany. After four years in Germany, he returned to the United States
Upon his return to the United States, he united with Smyrna Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio under the leadership of Bishop Fred Marshall. After serving for eight years in Columbus, Pastor Brown relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where he united with the New Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. H. L. Harvey, Jr. After arriving in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Pastor Brown united with the New Light Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Garfield Garner. After a short stay with New Light Temple, Pastor Brown was called back into pastorship at The Bethel Baptist Church in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. In the year 2002, God spoke to Pastor Brown and he relocated the church to the City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The name of the church was changed to Manna From On High Ministries.
He is the Presiding Bishop of Manna From On High Ministries with affiliate churches under his leadership in several cities to include:
